R&D at a Glance

Brief

As innovation has been a major value of FST, R&D activities have always been regarded as integral parts of FST work. The R&D activities in FST date back to the early days of its foundation.

The R&D department provides sampling supervision, test works, conceptual design, plant support and effective services and sustainable solutions in the field of mineral processing and metallurgy for supporting projects during planning, design, commissioning and operation. Moreover, the R&D department is fully-equipped with more than 100 pieces of equipment divided into four lab units (Chemistry, Mineralogy, Metallurgy and Mineral Processing) and pilot plants for mineral processing and iron ore pelletizing.

The team has successfully helped in completion of more than 20 iron ore processing plants (totally more than 35 million tons of iron ore concentrate) all the way from test work to performance guarantee test in various locations across Iran. Moreover, the team has been involved in 10 international projects at level of test work, conceptual design, commissioning and performance guarantee test.

Furthermore, the R&D team has been active in scientific and applied research in collaboration with academic organizations in the fields of mineral processing and metallurgy.

Vision

We plan to become one of top 10 research and development centers in the world by 2025 in the field of mineral processing, and especially the iron ore field.

Thanks to the well-educated, skilled, creative and motivated staff, effort, perseverance and use of modern equipment in our lab and pilot scale, we have conquered the top position in the test work and conceptual design of iron ore concentrate processing locally and in the middle-east region.
