Slovakia v Republic of Ireland LIVE kick-off time, TV channel information, squad news, score updates and more The Republic of Ireland face Slovakia in a Euro 2020 playoff semi-final tonight as the Boys in Green aim to get a step closer to next summer's rearranged tournament. It will be a massive night for Stephen Kenny in what is just his third match as senior boss after last month's loss to Finland and draw with Bulgaria. Slovakia are without two key players in central defender Milan Skriniar and midfielder Stanislav Lobotka. Skriniar tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, while Lobotka has been stuck in a hotel in Naples since his club Napoli were forced into lockdown as a result of two players at the Italian side testing positive for coronavirus. A member of Ireland's non-playing support staff to the senior team also tested positive for the virus and has not travelled to Bratislava. Seamus Coleman and Harry Arter both miss out on the game through injury meaning Matt Doherty will start at right-back, while Josh Cullen has come into the squad to replace Arter. Tonight's match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45 and will be shown live on both RTE Two and Sky Sports Football . We'll bring you all the build-up, action and reaction live right here. Doherty warns Ireland players need time to nail down Stephen Kenny's philosophy Matt Doherty predicts it will take more time for Ireland’s players to get Stephen Kenny’s attacking philosophy nailed down when he warned: “It’s not going to happen overnight”. But with the Euro qualifying semi-final play-off now just over a day away, the Tottenham defender is still hopeful that everything will click for Kenny’s side - and that they can take the game “by the scruff of the neck” in Bratislava. Doherty is banking on a more mentally sharp group taking to the field against Slovakia after a month’s competitive league action. “The first camp was a bit difficult,” admitted the 28-year-old, referring to last month’s first sessions under new boss Kenny, and the first two Nations League games against Bulgaria and Finland. “A lot of us came in with no training, really. “I know a few people might have had a few training sessions, a few games. Myself, I had absolutely nothing at all going into the games. Playing 90 minutes, you’re absolutely shattered afterwards. “It’s difficult to judge on that when we went in there with hardly any time at all. “It’s not going to happen overnight. It’ll take a few more training sessions to get the philosophy across. “It’s already starting to come across in training. Hopefully, it’ll click for us tomorrow night. “But things aren’t going to be drastic over that first camp, there were a lot of factors to take into account on that one - the lack of game time, training and the lack of time together.”
